Supporting McCoy After the Sudden Loss of His Mom, Hayley
Our family is devastated by the sudden loss of my beautiful sister, Hayley. She was an incredible mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Anyone who knew her knew how deeply she loved her son, McCoy. Her whole world revolved around him.
Hayley and her 16-year-old son shared a special bond through hockey, something they were both incredibly passionate about. Whether is was early morning practices, games, long weekends at tournaments, or many hours spent at the rink, she was always there cheering him on. If you were at the arena, you probably heard Hayley before you saw her, she was always one of the loudest ones cheering from the stands, proudly supporting her son and his team. Hockey wasn't just a sport for them, it was something they shared together and loved deeply.
McCoy is also an active athlete who plays volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse. Like everything he does, Hayley was always there supporting him every step of the way.
Her sudden passing has left an unimaginable void in our lives, and especially in the life of her son. At just 16 years old, he is now facing the future without the constant love, encouragement, and support of his mom.
We are creating this fundraiser to help support McCoy during this incredibly difficult time and to help provide stability as he moves forward. The funds raised will go toward:
- Final and memorial arrangements and celebration of life expenses
- Everyday living costs and stability
- Future education savings
- Ongoing support to ensure he feels secure and cared for
- Continuing his hockey journey, something that meant so much to both him and Hayley
- Supporting his involvement in sports and activities he loves
- Helping him build the future his mom dreamed for him
Hayley worked incredibly hard to give her son every opportunity she could, especially when it came to the sport they both loved. Our hope is to continue being there for him, carry forward the dreams she had for his future, and provide him with stability, comfort, and opportunities, just as his mom would have wanted.
Hayley touched so many lives through the hockey community. The rink was like a second home for her and McCoy, and many people will remember her for her laughter and the energy and encouragement she brought to every game.
If you knew Hayley or McCoy from the rink, from volleyball, school, our community, or family and friends, we ask that you please share this page so we can come together to support her son the way she always supported him. If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, our family is deeply grateful. If you are not able to donate, sharing this page would mean so much to us.
Thank you for surrounding McCoy and our family with love, kindness, prayers, and support during this heartbreaking time.
With gratitude,
Cassia Silva (her sister) and Family
*All funds raised will be managed by Hayley's family and placed in a dedicated account for Hayley's son. The funds will be used solely for his benefit, including education, living expenses, and continuing the sports he shared with his mom. Our intention is to protect these funds to support his future.
