Medical and Living Expenses

My daughter, Haylee was diagnosed with gluten intolerant about 4 years ago.  She was very dedicated to eating gluten free and when she got sick (which was often) she believed her food was cross containminated.  Around the beginning of 2016 she was having issues constantly and lost a lot of weight and was becoming weak and it was hard to carry on with her studies at ASU.  In April 2016 Haylee was dignosed with Ulcerative Colitus. She had issues prior to being diagnosed but nothing compares to what has happened in the last 8 months after her diagnoses. She was admitted into the hospital 4 times in 6 months and on Novemember 7, 2016 she had an emergency surgery to have her colon removed due to 2 larger perforations. Because her colon was removed she no longer has Ulcerative Colitis however, she has had many complications. On November 23, 2016 she had a second surgery to clean out her abdoment again and to repair other matters.  Her healing has been very slow due to many medications she was on. And not having a very good immune system.

The wound from her surgery was starting to heal but now it is opening up, the Dr's say it is because of her infections and her slow healing.

Haylee was in the hospital twice in early October for 4 to 5 days on each stay and was admitted again on October 29, 2016  and was discharged to go home on December 17, 2016.  On December 26, 2016 she was admitted back into the hospital with more complications.  My daughter doesn't work at this time and there have been a considerable amount of medical expenses that have been encured.   I am currently on FMLA without pay and have exhausted my vacation time and sick time so I am on leave without pay now and I have pretty much ran through my savings.  I take 1/2 days off and on occaision I am required to take a whole day off. I am at the hospital most of the time to make sure that I know what is going on and so that I understand what the treatments are.  What my daughter, Haylee and I are asking is help with her medical expenses and to help pay for our living expenses.  We currently are trying to get her into the Mayo Clinic, awaiting approval.

Haylee had to take a Medical Leave from ASU but is going to return and continue her studies once she is well enough. She is pursing a degree in anthropology.
