It is with a heavy heart that I am writing this post. On Monday, Brandon’s cousin, Hayden, was diagnosed with a brain tumor larger than a golf ball. He is 20 years old and works at Canadian Tire here in Yarmouth.

He had been having migraines for quite some time and recently has had spells where he is confused. When he went to out patients, they asked his birthdate and he gave them his email address. His speech is affected. The deterioration is happening rapidly and he has weakness on his right side.

This was shocking news to receive at OPD. It has rocked our world.

He was quickly sent to Halifax where he has been admitted awaiting surgery. Surgery is set for Monday as where the tumor is and size, it requires two surgeons to do the procedure.

The journey ahead is daunting. Expenses are quickly piling up. The loss of income is making accommodations and meals difficult for his parents, Melvin & Janel
