On Friday, August 12, I heard the words every parent dreads but also never thinks they'll hear. My 27-year-old son, Hayden Stanford, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Hayden was a young man who was getting to the stride of his life. He had married the love of his life, Lelia, and had acquired property that they were dreaming of building together. They lived in their hometown, and Hayden graduated from Central Davidson High School. Hayden was silly and funny. Those qualities made him a beloved uncle to his two nieces and his nephew. Hayden loved music and family. Hayden had one of the biggest, kindest hearts of any human we've ever known. Hayden would do anything for any human or animal. You couldn't imagine a more loving or caring human, which is reflected in the fact that that is the first thing everyone who knew him mentioned when they found out.
No one plans to pass away at 27. Since Hayden was so young, he and his wife, Lil, had no savings or plan for this situation. His family also never expected to have to bury our loving husband/son/brother/uncle. We are asking for assistance help with the expenses of taking care of Hayden one last time.
