On March 28, 2025, a devastating fire tore through my friend Justin Dahlberg’s apartment in Brookline, Massachusetts. Luckily, Justin and his two roommates, Ben & Jackson, were not home during the fire, and all other residents were evacuated safely. However, the fire left their home destroyed and uninhabitable. With only an hour to gather what he could, Justin managed to save some essentials, but he lost most of his furniture, kitchenware, bedding, and household necessities. Now, he’s facing the challenge of relocating and replacing his items lost to the fire.

I met Justin in 2016 during our freshman year at Northeastern University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a minor in Psychology. He has been working in finance but is currently job searching after being laid off. This fire has made an already uncertain time even more difficult.

Outside of work, Justin is an avid skier, gamer, and soccer player, staying active in intramural leagues year-round. He also has a deep love for dogs and enjoys walking them through Rover. Despite losing his home, Justin is staying positive—but he needs some support to get back on his feet. Justin is the kind of friend who quietly but consistently shows up when it matters most. Whether it was bringing me Excedrin and snacks during a migraine attack or simply being a steady, reliable presence, he has always found ways to care for those around him. Though he’s a man of few words, his actions speak volumes. My hope is that this GoFundMe becomes a way for all of us to show up for him—to help him rebuild after this unexpected loss and remind him that he’s not facing this alone.
