Hay friends haaaay
Donation protected
Hi friends, we’re raising money for a bulk load of hay to be delivered for our winter needs. The drought has been especially hard, more than tripling our hay budgets this year. Like many, our community is struggling to feed livestock, horses especially as they can’t graze as freely since the striped blister beetle has been discovered on local alfalfa fields. This beetle is severely toxic to horses and can kill them. We’ve previously utilized a program provided by the segment that supplied about a third of our winter hay needs and this year because of little forage, they’ve informed us all that the program is discontinued. Fields that would yield 50 bales are now yielding maybe 10 raising the cost of available bales out of reach.
We need your help to bring a minimum order of 40-(1000-1200 lb) round bales and 100 (60lb) square bales. These bales will be able to supplement winter feeding. The bulk supplier has a minimum order of 40 round bales and will deliver for $90/bale. Which is an incredibly generous price as local round bales are priced from $120-190/bale.
Your support is greatly appreciated and you are not just helping to feed our furry friends fed and alive, you’re helping to ensure our community doesn’t make the hard decisions over necessity during this time.
Many thanks and blessings to you for sharing what you can.
