Thess, The Noble Teacher

Mam Thess, as she is called by her students, is one of the most hard-working, kind-hearted and generous people I have ever known. She raised her children while her husband worked in the Middle East to financially support them, and she eventually also started working tirelessly as a teacher at a school in the Philippines, driving over two hours each way, to continue supporting her children and grandchildren. She only got to see her husband for one month each year, for over 30 years. Last year, her husband finally retired from his job and moved back to the Philippines and she had planned to do the same next year after she turned 65. We were all so happy for them as they could finally re-start their lives together. However, three weeks ago, we received the news that she had been diagnosed with Uterine cancer. She underwent surgery for the removal of her uterus but soon learned that the cancer had spread to her ovaries. She is now at Stage 3 and needs to start chemotherapy as soon as possible. We are all heartbroken and want to help but we don’t know if it will be enough to help cover the costs; that would be an amazing relief for her family in this time of need. Mam Thess has touched so many lives, her students, family and friends. Please share with friends and family, let's raise this money for her!
