Hawi's Education Fund

Hawi is in her first year at Guelph U. studying International Development.  She came to Canada from Ethiopia to live with her uncle 7 years ago.  Since then she has worked extremely hard to learn the English language.  She is a determined, hard working, and curious person.  These qualities have served her well.  She earned the Principal's Award in grade 8, and earned an English award in grade 12.  Hawi loves to read, enjoys watching soccer games, is a wonderful cook, loves animals, especially Hallie!  She is a young woman who has a lot of potential but needs a little financial help to get through her university years.  She has applied and been approved to receive OSAP financial assistance for this year.  This has covered most of her costs for tuition, residence, food, and books for first term.  For second term she is short $2000.00 for residence fees, and $600 for books.   As of May 1st she will have to start paying rent for housing for next September.  She is hoping to get a job as soon as school ends.  To give her an opportunity to save for rent and food for next year, she will need $4,000.00 to help give her a good start in September.  This is assuming she will be paying $500 in rent per month from May to December 2019.
