Hawes Strong - Help Support Jim's Cancer Battle.

On behalf of my mother-in-law, Sharon Hawes & father-in-law, Jim Hawes, I am asking for support from our family, friends and the greater community as they navigate Jim's recent cancer diagnosis. After having areas of skin cancer removed it was recently discovered the cancer has further spread. Out of privacy for my father-in-law, I want to be sensitive to the information shared regarding the details of his diagnosis. That said, we know the next several months will include many tests, surgeries, hospital stays, MRI & PET scans as well as radiation for 6 weeks, 5 days per week.

Unfortunately, the treatment and healthcare needed will require they drive 1 hour to obtain his care in Grand Rapids as well as 1 hour returning home. In addition, we are certain there will be times they will be required to stay in Grand Rapids for his treatment.

Ideally, if would be helpful to find them temporary housing accommodations in Grand Rapids to decrease the stress and burden of the constant travel. But, we are ultimately hoping to raise funds to offset the additional costs associated with travel, medical expenses and other expenses that might arise for them in the coming months.

On behalf of our family, we greatly appreciate your support. Jim is a tough and strong man; a fighter. He's a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He's always been there to help others in need and now it's time for us to come together to support him. Thank you!
