Hurricane Lowell went through our island and destroyed 30 years of hard work on our farm. The 90-mile-per-hour wind collapsed my 30’ x 90’ greenhouse with orchid and anthurium plants. It also destroyed the shelter for our equipment.
Several fruit trees and tropical plants have been lost, as well as other landscape plants.
My business services many customers who provide vacation rentals with orchids, and I have provided interior floral design services for hotels and private homes. I have opened up my greenhouse every Saturday for 30 years to provide plants and flowers to our local community. With the amount of damage to my farm, it will take a while to recover.
These funds will help clear the debris, rebuild the greenhouse, and replace plant material. As a kupuna, this business has been an important source of income for my husband, Gary, and me. Mahalo for your kokua.
