Hi, my name is Faith Degollado, and I’m a mother to two beautiful girls, including my sweet daughter Haven Skye, who recently passed away unexpectedly at just five months old after a long and courageous medical journey.

Telling her story feels like a way to keep her light shining. I’m learning how to carry both grief and grace.
It’s not easy to ask for support, but I know I can’t carry this alone.

Haven Skye changed me and my life forever. When I was given a devastating diagnosis during pregnancy, I was told she likely wouldn’t make it. But I chose to believe differently. I chose to trust God. I chose to fight for her.

To give Haven the best chance at life, I gave birth six hours from home at Children’s Mercy. She was admitted to the NICU immediately after birth. Right away, I packed up our home and moved everything into storage so we could stay nearby. I had no income during that season, only faith, and a mother’s love.

Her big sister and I were by her side daily. We made the NICU our home; singing to her, praying over her, and soaking in every moment we were given. For five months, Haven grew, overcame, and amazed everyone who cared for her. She was so strong. She was so deeply loved. Haven Skye showed us all what true strength looks like.

She was already a living miracle, and her surgery, and how beautifully she recovered, was yet another. After that, she was finally ready to come home. We found a place to live and moved four hours closer to her doctors and specialists, hoping to give her the smoothest, safest transition.
I prepared our home. I prepared my heart. I did everything I could.

After just a short time together at home, Haven became suddenly sick. She held on with such strength, until Jesus welcomed her into His arms.

I am now left facing funeral expenses, monthly bills, and the weight of rebuilding a life that I had shaped entirely around Haven’s needs. I’m doing everything I can to create stability for my oldest daughter, while still trying to process this unimaginable loss myself. Everything changed so quickly, and I’m still learning how to navigate this new reality for our family.

This support would lift the weight of funeral expenses and financial strain, and help us stay afloat as I navigate this new season without Haven. I’m trusting God for the strength to rebuild, and the means to one day place a headstone that reflects the beauty of her life.

Thank you for taking the time to hear Haven’s story. If you feel led to give or share, I’m so grateful. Every prayer, every kind word, and every bit of support is a reminder that God is near, even in the deepest valleys. Even in the heartbreak, her life remains a testimony of God’s goodness, and it still continues through us. ♥️

With love and faith,
Haven’s mama
