Dan has supported the Grand Rapids school and community for 43 years. He was a teacher and a coach up until recently. He needs our help now. In early February, he had back surgery fusing several vertebrae. He developed an infection in the wound at the beginning of March. He was airlifted to the Mayo clinic. Since March 13, the infection has been detected in the back wound and in his shoulders. He is facing a long road to recovery. Dan is at the Mayo Clinic receiving a team of doctors’ attention. Unfortunately, He and Lori (Abele) Akre are suddenly overwhelmed with unexpected expenses.
