Have Courage with Dutch Courage

See these people? Happy people. These are some (not all) of the happy people who work for Dutch Courage who've probably helped you have a great night and made you feel welcome. Places like Dutch Courage and the people who work there are what make cities like Baltimore places to love and fall in love with.
You're probably aware that hospitality industry folks rely on tips and hourly wages to pay their bills. You also are probably aware that places like Dutch Courage were forced to close to help mitigate the public health situation. While we're all on board with public health--and we want these happy people healthy too--this closure is going to cause enormous hardship for them in their daily lives that will be challenging to come back from.
I'm asking for you to consider contributing to this fund to help them cover their daily living expenses. They are likely going to miss at least one, but probably more paychecks as this epidemic continues. The total we're requesting will be divided and offered to staff who want it and will help them cover whatever costs they need (rent, food, internet, BG&E...you know...the stuff that keeps us alive and connected to each other). When we've reached enough of a critical mass to divide up a reasonable chunk of money for each person, I will withdraw, confirm the employees who wish to participate based on their individual circumstance and divide the funding among them.
Dutch Courage will soon be offering other ways to help, like gift certificates, and those are a huge help, but they don't replace tips.
Dutch Courage opened at the end of December and is still trying to build a nest egg. Then the bar closed on 3/16, so the sooner we can start helping these good folks out, the sooner they can have the peace of mind that will make this tough time a tiny bit easier.
