We are writing to ask you to support the having the SPJ Student Newsroom at this year’s Region 1 Conference, which is being sponsored by the SPJ New England chapter and is scheduled to be held at Emerson College in Boston on April 19-20.

SPJ News prepares the next generation of storytellers and truth seekers. Six student journalists will be selected to cover presentations and events at the conference. These student journalists will get hands-on experience in which they file stories on daily — and sometimes hourly — deadlines.

Many students who have participated in SPJ News now have successful careers in journalism.

We are asking for $3,000 to cover expenses related to the conference and the student newsroom.
