Kevin and his family need our help. As you may know, after a few grueling years, a miracle has happened!! By power of prayer and the Grace of God, Kevin was finally gifted a new heart.
He awoke to a strong healthy heartbeat on Valentines Day! But it will be quite some time until Kevin will be able to return to work.
They will need help with numerous household bills, co-pays, medications and travel expenses down the road. Since there have been so many to ask how they can help, we figured we would get this started. So let’s help them focus on healing and recovering rather than worrying about their bills. Please donate any amount you can to help Kevin and his family through this difficult and exciting time.
~This is an Ode written for Kevin, beautifully explaining his journey. The Author would like to remain anonymous.~
Ode to a New Heart
I started feeling poorly
quite a long while ago
they put me through a lot
been a rough road to hoe
the news it just got worse
my heart was giving out
why is this happening to me
i wanted to scream and shout
i’m still a young man
i have a family to raise
i do not have the time
to deal with this malaise
i can no longer work
i do not like this feeling
nothing is what it was
my whole life is reeling
time to face the facts
a necessity is the pump
why oh why God
on me did this you dump
it was quite a scare
to have to carry a machine
but it has kept me living
but on it i wasn’t keen
my family and my friends
they all rallied around
could never have imagined
all the love that i have found
i waited for the phone to ring
and prayed every single hour
for a new heart to come my way
because i believe in a higher power
the time well it did come
woke me out of a sound sleep
someone donated their heart to me
and it causes me to weep
we made it to the hospital
in the middle of the night
my nerves they are a mess
i’m feeling full of fright
the new heart is a match
i can’t believe it’s true
no more heart pump for me
my heart will be brand new
the doctors worked their magic
God gave a miracle to me
i’m feeling pretty darn good now
my kidneys work so i can pee
there is no pump beating for me
i can breathe now on my own
because my old heart
the coop it has flown
how can i ever thank
the generosity of one selfless soul
i will always think of them and their family
every time i take a stroll
i know that i have a ways to go
so please continue to pray for me
it will not be long before
me in person you will see
i will never forget this journey
i will never forget all your love
i will never forget my blessings
