Since 1936, BSA Troop 80 has been serving Downers Grove youth and young adults. We are housed and hosted by the Alexander Bradley American Legion Post 80. We have awarded the highest distinction of Eagle Scout to hundreds of young men and provided thousands of hours of community service. The Troop has been a welcoming organization, offering leadership, fellowship, team building and fun. We are proud of our past and excited for our future. We grew tremendously in the Spring of 2021, welcoming ten new Scouts! When we rechartered in December 2021 for 2022, we retained our 34 registered Scouts, (100% of our membership!); a testament to the strength of the group and the dedication of its leaders.

We have humbly created this page to ask for your support to sustain this group and allow Troop 80 to replace much needed camping equipment. We are anticipating another 10-12 Scouts joining our Troop this Spring, bringing our Scouts and Leadership to over 50 individuals! Our gear is long past its lifespan, and we currently do not have enough safe tents for camping. Our existing tents are over 30 years old, and though we have been thrifty, we simply must buy new tents to accommodate the Troop. Durable replacement tents, which are uniform and long lasting, have been identified. Each tent is approximately $300, and our hope is to purchase 20 tents.

If funds exceed our tent goal, our plan is to also replace our antiquated cooking gear. Your donation of ANY amount, is greatly appreciated, as is your ability to share this page. Have a Heart for Troop 80 will only run the month of February 2022. Troop 80 will also be undertaking additional fundraising activities throughout the year to further support the replacement of our camping gear. Each individual donation of $100 or more on this page will receive one complimentary ticket to our summer/fall pancake breakfast (date TBD). Thank you for your support of Troop 80!
