At the beginning of July my brother, Chris, 43, was at home and began to feel light headed, nauseous and short of breath. He collapsed to the ground and stopped breathing. He was rushed to the emergency room and at first tests were coming back clear. The ER doctor was not satisfied and after further tests they noticed something on the EKG and recommended he see a Cardiologist. After an Echo at the Nebraska Medicine, they discovered a severe Aortic Stenosis that needed immediate attention and informed my brother that he would need open heart surgery to replace they Aortic Valve. Surgery is schedule for early August and will keep him out of work for at least 90 days. Chris, has been working as the Chief Engineer at a local hotel for the last 2 years and been in hotel/apartment maintenance for the last 19, but only has enough vacation time to pay for a little over a week. A single father of 3 boys, Chance, 21, Kael, 15 and Gavin, 14 and now a newly wed who has added a wife, Nicole and her 4 daughters, Cailyn, 24, Alyssa, 19, Maddie, 5 and Lyla 2, we are hoping with the help of all of you we can supplement his income so he can continue to support his family. I am bias being his younger sister, but my brother has always put everyone else above him, even when we were young. He works long hours, comes home and cooks for his family, he loves to cook and spends as much time with all of his family as he can. Family is everything to him. He has stood by my side through all of my health issues over the years and it's my turn to help him. He is already on limitations and your help is greatly appreciated and needed immediately. To add to all the stress of having surgery, the family is in the process of moving from Crescent, IA to Millard, NE! We just want them to be able worry about one less thing. Please, any amount helps!
