Have a Heart for Jeanette
Donation protected
On October 16th, 2018, our family was shocked to learn that my sister Jeanette Rausch had suffered a heart attack at 45 years old. She was rushed to Valley Hospital where upon performing an exploratory procedure to view her heart and arteries, she went into cardiac arrest. Thankfully, she was saved but we soon learned her diabetes had quietly been weakening her heart and arteries over the years. Two days later, she was transferred to NY Presbyterian hospital where the doctors were able to put a stent in her artery. Just as they were wrapping up the surgery, the unthinkable happened. Without enough heart function and blood flow, the stent collapsed and Jeanette went into cardiac arrest once more. While trying to repair the stent, Jeanette's brain lacked oxygen for an extended period of time. The doctors said she shouldn't have survived. It's a miracle she's alive, but there is confirmed brain damage.
As I type this, my sister is fighting for her life. We learned from the neurology team that the next 3-6 months will be critical in terms of telling us if Jeanette's brain can reset, unlock and be with us in some way again or if she will remain locked away. Either way, during this time, medical bills are mounting. We all know how costly just an overnight stay can be in the hospital-my sister has already had a month long stay. There is no question, long term care is necessary.
We are faced with a long, medical journey but we are determined to fight alongside Jeanette to bring her back to her husband Matt, her two beautiful children, Eric and Taylor, me and my family that adore their aunt, and my mother Maria that needs her child. Your donation will help lessen the financial burden of medical bills and help the family focus on caring for Jeanette and helping her fight. Even if you can't donate financially, please continue sending your prayers, your positive thoughts and energy and even consider visiting. Every voice helps trigger the brain and bring her back. Thank you all!
