Hello All!
For the many of you who know Loren, you also know he puts his heart and soul into anything he decides to pursue. From recovery to music, photography to education, he ignites a passion and goes for it! In the last 2 months, however, so much has changed for him. In just under 6 weeks, he has gone from an ice hockey playing guitar instructor getting ready to start his master's degree, to a patient, spending hours a day in a hospital bed. Why the sudden change? The answer is unexpected and severe Heart Failure.
Thought to have been started by a wicked virus that traveled into his heart wreaking havoc and ultimately leading to the only viable solution being a heart transplant. This month-long journey would tear any human down but despite the odds, Loren had persevered with great strength, his cynical sense of humor, and above all else faith in his Higher Powers plan that in his words is "always better than mine".
Now with the blessing of becoming a 1A transplant candidate comes the reality of potentially many months living inpatient at the hospital almost two hours drive from friends, family, and of course his beloved pup Phoebie.
Thankfully, Loren's insurance will cover many of his medical costs but not all of the expenses involved in this long process. We, Loren's loved ones want to join together to assist him with his journey back to health and ultimately a full life.
