I am raising money for my 3 years old nephew, Wesley Haut.
On November 10th, 2018 Wesley got ahold of a handgun inside his home ( I cannot go into detail because of an open investigation) . Wesley shot himself in the face . The bullet entered just below his left eye , through his brain , and out the back of his head. He is currently in the Trauma unit at UMC Hospital .
He had brain surgery to clean up and remove the damaged tissue and a craniotomy the day of the incident and is currently fighting . He has been progressively more stable daily . Our family has come together and we are all praying for his recovery.
I am asking for donations for both his bills that are piling up now as he didn't have insurance and has been denied Medicare and for the help he is going to need for treatments during his recovery after he wakes and when he leaves the hospital. I am hoping to get ahead of the curve so we can make his recovery as smooth as possible and financial stability will help the family get him through this.
Doctors are optimistic they will be able to wake him up in the next few days as his swelling in his brain has lowered and is stable .
Our family is thankful for any help anyone can provide . You can never prepare yourself for something life altering like this to happen but we are going to get through it together . I will provide updates as much as I can on his status and hopefully the outcome is as positive as can be . Thank you !
