I’d like to introduce someone that we’ve been working with in locking down the best cause for this event. 

Adam Massiah is a recent Mount Royal University graduate, a community leader and an activist for anti-racism initiatives who currently chairs the United Black People’s Allyship (UBPA). Adam has devoted his time to raising awareness and addressing systemic racism in Calgary, making him a prominent figure in the events dedicated to fighting for equality, diversity, and inclusion. While currently employed within City Hall as a Community Relations Advisor.

Together Adam, Karlene and I have come to a decision on the best way to allocate the funds from this event. We will be using the profits to further develop a ground floor kids day program called rap camp. New west entertainment is a Is a local music recording studio that holds bi-annual music camps for underprivileged kids. Giving them a chance to participate in hands on learning of the arts from industry professionals ranging from audio engineers, DJs, photographers, decorated performance artists, graphic designers and cinematographers. 

Please take a minute to read attached declaration and program guide and flip through photos of past day camps that have been added to the go fund me page(At the bottom). We will all be on site at the party to answer any questions you may have. 

I want to give a special thanks in advance to my people in the event industry and their generosity in lending equipment needed for this event, as well as the DJs and venue and the combined efforts of our contributors. If we can get to our goal of $4000 on this go fund me we’re looking at $1500 - $2000 that will go to directly impacting underprivileged youth using musical experiences and hands on education. Covid has been hard on everyone especially the youth… but if anything has kept us sane though it all it’s music and these few special opportunities we have to get together and dance and cheers. Can’t wait to see you all this weekend and share this moment.
