My name is Hattie and I am excited to start fundraising for my trip to the next World Scout Jamboree. I would love your help please, if you could share my page or donate, that would be wonderful.
I have been involved in Scouting since I was 6 years old and have been through Beavers, Cubs and I am now in the Scouts. My Scout group is 1st Sedgley Scouts in the Dudley district, where I attend our weekly activity meetings and go on camps.
Through Scouting I have had many fantastic opportunities and learnt lots of new skills such as archery, cooking, climbing and much more. Scouting has helped me become more independent and learn valuable life skills, thanks to the amazing leaders who volunteer.
There is also a charitable aspect to Scouting and I have previously helped fundraise money with my group, plus planted community flower baskets, attended Remembrance parades and helped at carol services. These acts of helpfulness, community spirit and service are part of the foundations of s
Scouting.
I have been to be selected to proudly represent my country at the Jamboree, this is an amazing trip of a lifetime. The World Scout Jamboree happens every 4 years all around the world. I am so excited to be attending the 26th Jamboree in Poland in the summer of 2027.
For those of you unfamiliar with what happens at a Jamboree, its a little like the Olympic village. Together approximately 40,000 Scouts, from almost every country in the world, will gather for a week, camp together, share activities and make friends. Here young people learn about other cultures and countries. This is a once in a lifetime chance and I am very proud to have been chosen. I will share my experiences with others when I come back too.
For the fundraising, I need to raise £3000 to fund the cost of the trip, which is in 18 months time. I am going to do a variety of fundraising activities and hope to support others from my unit as well. If you would like to support me in any way and are able to, that would be very kind and gratefully received.
I will be part of the West Mercia unit along with 35 other Scouts and our 4 leaders. We will spend time doing team building activities and camps to grow into a unit together over the next year, as well as fundraising events. There's a lot of work for us to do in 18 months!
Thank you for reading my story and hearing about my trip. I am so proud to have this opportunity and will share with others what I learn. If you can kindly share or possibly donate that would be much appreciated.
