Hello my name is Cindy Parker. I came to know Seth when he and his dad, Scott would attend Cub scout meetings in Tolono when Seth was little. Scott always helped out whenever he seen the need. Sadly Scott passed away when Seth was a young boy.
Seth, a triplet, and his sisters (Sydney and Shelby) persevered through life even with challenges of being without their dad.
Their mother, Marsha became a true matriarch for the family. She has worked with the Red Cross to aide others in times of need. I remember Marsha organizing meal trains for mutal friends who needed support in Tolono when her kids were growing up.
Most recently, Seth graduated from South Eastern Missouri University with triple majors bachelor's degree in December of 2024.
As he celebrated his achievements, Seth said he was not feeling well. His mom insisted on taking him to the doctor to see what was going on. When she saw him she knew he was not doing very well.
December 20, just three days after his graduation, Seth was admitted to Carle hospital. He had a collapsed lung and fluid buildup that had to be drained immediately.
During his treatment a large mass (18cm) was discovered in his chest that went from the left side of his chest into his abdomen.
After initial tests the doctors confirmed the worst, that it is cancer. They do not know what type of cancer it is. Once they determine the type they will aggressively treat the cancer.
Friends and family the Hatchel's need you help. The family will need help with expenses that nobody plans for. Please show the Hatchel's the love and support they deserve. Show them that we can and will stand with them through this!
Expenses they will need help with immediately with are lodging, missed work, fuel expenses, meals while staying near Seth during this difficult time.
Please pray for Seth and the entire Hatchel Family. This is undoubtedly not how they planned their Christmas. Anything you can do to help or support the family would be greatly appreciated.
