My name is Nick and I'm starting a fundraiser for our Afghan colleague Hasib and his family as they start their new life here in the United States. Hasib is a husband and father of four young children. Due to the nature of his work, Hasib is a hero, a colleague, a friend, a father, a husband, a patriot, and so much more. Hasib and his family have had an emotional, dangerous, and unpredictable several weeks as they escaped Afghanistan. It took the persistent effort of many of his former American colleagues, most of whom had served with and had the pleasure of working with Hasib, to get him out of Afghanistan and to safety in the United States.
As Hasib and his family prepare a new life in the United States, they are left with very little since escaping Afghanistan. A small financial contribution would greatly help them get settled and feel comfortable here in America. With the trauma of their quick departure from Afghanistan under threat, the language barriers Hasib’s wife and kids now face, and all the unknowns surrounding their new life here in America, we hoped a financial contribution to the family would help maybe alleviate some of those concerns.
