My mother and James lost their house in Huffman, TX and were rescued from the rising flood waters August 29, 2017. The San Jacinto river decided to make their home its home. We are very grateful their lives were spared and they were able to be rescued in time. When the storm is long gone they will have lost almost everything. Cars, tractors, house, barn, tools, animals, pictures, keepsakes, almost everything.....Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated by the entire family. It will take a lot of time and money to get them back on track, hopefully this will at least help them get started and provide them with a little hope. They would never ask for anything but they are always there to help others. It is our turn to help them.
Thank you to anyone who can spare anything. Any little bit will help. Anyone who would like to help with gift cards/clothes, etc there is someone in both Austin (Mona's sister) and Chicago (me) who will be making frequent trips to Huffman to help in the recovery. Either of us would be more than happy to collect and take them to them. Contact me for details on how to get them to one of us.
