Harvey Rabin's Legacy: Fund Disability Essay Prize
Donation protected
As a way to honor the memory of our father, Harvey Rabin, we are raising funds with the goal of establishing a prize for the best essay related to disability studies within the history department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where two of his three children matriculated.
Our father was a passionate advocate for disabled rights who maintained a healthy sense of humor about himself, his disability, and the world.
Harvey lived with multiple sclerosis for over forty years and experienced firsthand the difficulties that the disabled face. He was also a huge history buff and a history major himself (at the University of Chicago). We have reached out to the University of Wisconsin history department about this possibility.
If they are unable to host the prize for any reason, we will try to establish it elsewhere or donate the funds to another worthy disability justice cause.
