Hurricane Relief Fund
Hi everyone - as you know, Samantha (Widger) Harvey and Nathan Harvey were badly affected by Hurricane Florence. They had to evacuate their home (then their neighborhood) on 9/15 and weren't able to get in again until 9/27. Once they could return, they found that about 6 feet of water made its way into the house. It spared their second floor, but they will need to do a lot of work on their main floor to make it livable again.
Here are two articles that were done by one of their local news stations. Samantha was interviewed for the first one when returning to the neighborhood for the first time, then they were contacted to do the follow-up story when they were able to get into their home.

They just moved into their house in June. They aren't in a flood plain and were told only a 1 in 500 years flood would ever affect them, then that flood came less than 3 months later. They and their 3 pups are safe, but they did not have flood insurance and will need to fix and replace everything on their first floor and Samantha's car.
We (Samantha's sister and parents) started this GoFundMe campaign because we have had a lot of questions on how people can help, and almost all of us live far away. Please consider donating to Sam and Nathan, even $5 will help them get on their feet and will be greatly appreciated! Thank you all so much for your help and feel free to ask Sara, George, or Andi if you have any questions!
