Hi! My name is Beth and I am one of the over 45vendors at Harvest Hub in Piedmont,OK! If you haven’t heard…here’s the story….

An unexpected commercial freezer failure at Harvest Hub led to spoiled inventory and an unforeseen two day forced closure.

Sometimes one problem creates a domino effect…

Approximately $2,000 of Harvest Hub’s own inventory has already been lost, with additional damages still being assessed. The Hub also carries products from numerous Oklahoma vendors!! Those vendors are facing losses too, not only from products that may no longer be sellable, but from the sales those products would have generated.

The longer Harvest Hub remains closed, the more losses accumulate: sales, vendor income, employee wages, replacement inventory and refrigeration costs. Professional odor remediation is also underway and their freezer may need to be replaced.

There is an important distinction: money in the Hub’s accounts cannot simply be used to cover these losses. Much of that money belongs to the vendors whose products they sell. It is not available to pay the Hub’s emergency expenses.

Right now, the losses are exceeding the income coming in.

For nearly six years, Harvest Hub and its owner/operator Thania Mayfield has helped Oklahoma farmers, makers, bakers, artisans and small businesses reach local customers and build their brands.

This isn’t just about a freezer. It’s about preventing a temporary equipment failure from becoming a much larger threat to The Hub and the vendors and families who depend on it. The community of Piedmont and surrounding areas come to The Hub cause they know their dollars will stay local and their purchase are top quality and safe for their families! Thania has built a reputation not just for herself but for the The Hub, as we see so many small local businesses closing all around us; I can’t allow that to happen to The Hub…I won’t!
