Hi, I’m Amber — I’m 18, currently in Year 13 studying for my A-levels, and I’ve just been accepted onto a summer programme with Harvard.
I still can’t quite believe it.
It’s called the Harvard Undergraduate Ventures–TECH Summer Program (HUVTSP), and it’s all about entrepreneurship, innovation, and building real-world solutions. It’s fully remote and brings together students from all over the world — and somehow, I got in.
This means everything to me. I grew up in a small town with very few opportunities and was raised by a single mum who’s always done her best to support me and my siblings. I’ve always had big dreams — I want to become an accountant and one day build software that helps small businesses in rural areas thrive. That might sound like a niche goal, but it matters to me. I’ve seen firsthand how businesses in places like mine struggle without the right tools or support.
Harvard has given me a $2,000 scholarship, which I’m so grateful for — but I still need to raise $2,750 (around £2070) to fully cover the cost. I’ve applied for over 100 jobs trying to fund this myself, but with time running out and a deadline of May 7th, I’m asking for help.
The money will go towards:
* Covering the rest of the programme fees
* Any platform/processing costs
* Access to the resources and tools I’ll need during the programme
This is a chance I never thought I’d have — and I don’t want to lose it because of money. If you’re able to donate or even just share this, it would mean the world to me.
Thank you for reading and for believing in me!
