Hartman's Journey: Together, We've Got This!
Donation protected
Hi, My name is Chrissy Hammonds, and I am hosting a fundraiser for one of our incredible Sterling School teachers, Ms. Heather Hartman. Sometimes words are not enough to describe a friend, colleague, mother, sister, daughter, and an A+ educator. If you know Heather Hartman, then you know she is one of those amazingly wonderful humans who is truly indescribable, but I'll give a small sample of how much she does for others. Heather shows up to work early, prepares for the day, attends meetings and conferences, makes meaningful connections, and encourages all of her fifth graders to be the best they can be. She pours herself into her students every day. And last, but certainly not least, she goes home to be the best mom to Kathryn and Knox. “Kids First” is truly her motto.
Last May, after the Prisma Health Mobile Mammography Unit came to our school, Heather found out she had breast cancer. Even in the midst of teaching Summer School, Heather made sure that her doctor appointments were scheduled after hours to ensure students were not missing out on any instruction. Heather had to miss the start of the school year due to her surgery, and we were all so glad to have Heather return to the classroom and be with us at school!
Unfortunately, she also comes back with the news that her treatments aren't finished and that she will have to have chemotherapy. We know that there are many challenges and difficulties that lie ahead for Heather. While we can support her emotionally and physically, we also want to help support her financially as well. Insurance will cover only a small portion of her expenses, so I am creating this fundraiser to help ease Heather's financial burden.
Any amount will be appreciated, and all donations will go directly to Heather to cover the costs of her treatments. Thank you in advance for your support through giving!
