Hartlie's Journey: Living Life to the Fullest

My name is Sidne Wills.
I am a single mother of two beautiful daughters, Hartlie and Hagen.
These girls are my world as a lot of you know.
Sadly, on April, 07, 2025, my world was flipped upside down.
After a sports related injury, I noticed that Hartlie developed a cross eye.
I took her in to be seen at PCH, where I was told that it could possibly be a paralyzed nerve and to monitor it over the coming months to see if she regained movement.
After months of seeing no change, I took her back in and the ophthalmologist decided to schedule surgery to correct the cross eye, and ordered an MRI to be done prior to surgery.
The morning of April 7th Hartlie had her MRI done at Phoenix Children's Hospital.
All set for a minor outpatient eye surgery, I received a call that same evening from the doctor with earth shattering news.
Hartlies cross eye had nothing to do with the sports injury.
And was in fact the result of a rapidly growing tumor in her brain stem, pressing on nerves, causing her eye to cross.
The next day we were sitting in the office at PCH Main with a Neurosurgeon, followed by an Oncology team.
It was that day that Hartlie was diagnosed with a Diffused Midline Glioma.
A rare, rapidly growing brain tumor that is both inoperable and incurable.
The oncology team told us the lifespan with these tumors run between 9 to 15 months.
At this point, Hartlie is more than aware of her diagnosis.
Yet she carries on with strength and courage, and is prepared to fight this monster of a cancer.
Blessed that we are still seeing more good days than bad.
Hartlie is still doing all of the things she loves and then some.
Our days are filled with bike riding, roller skating, swimming, drawing, crafting, and lots of laughter and love.

As of last month, I decided to take a leave of absence from work to spend more time with my daughters and be ready for the changes that are to come.

Quality of life is my main focus, as our days are numbered.

We are trying to cram years of life, into a significantly shortened lifespan.

Hartlie is set to start treatment in July, as we had another MRI at the beginning of this month and were told that her tumor is growing already.
After treatment, I plan to have her start on a trial out of state.

Between treatments and trials, I would like to show Hartlie places away from home, visit family out of state, and just let her live her life to the fullest.

This Go Fund Me will help with bills and expenses, medical travel expenses, and trips and travel while I take this time off to be with Hartlie.

Next stop will be Hawaii, because our girl wants to swim with the sea turtles!

We have had an outpour of love and support already and I am beyond grateful.
Everything helps and is appreciated beyond words.

Thank you to all who took the time to read Hartlies story and who choose to follow us along the way.
