Hartedroom Mt. Ventoux Laar and Berg Felipe Isaza

Dear reader, around Ascension 2025 we cycle or walk with 25 students and teachers from the secondary school Laar & Berg from Laren de Mt. Ventoux to raise money for the Hartedroom Foundation.

Heart dream

Nearly 1000 children in the Netherlands suffer from cardiomyopathy. A serious, often congenital, heart disease. Almost half of these children die within five years of being diagnosed with the disease, or can only continue to live after a heart transplant.

Hartedroom.nl wants to change this and finances scientific research into pediatric cardiomyopathy. Among other things, to improve the treatment and quality of life of these sick children. And to perhaps one day, in a beautiful dream, be able to cure cardiomyopathy.

Jim Spiering is one of the students participating in the To The Top week. He got a new heart at the age of 11 and was cured of cardiomyopathy. Hartedroom then contributed to guiding him in this process. To support this research, we as a group want to support Hartedroom by setting up a sporting performance on the Mt. Ventoux

In total we are 5 days in France to prepare and Monday 2 June is the real big day on which all Laar & Berg participants try to achieve a personal sporting goal.

I (Felipe Isaza) hope to walk up Mt.Ventoux on June 2, this amounts to 1600 altitude meters over a distance of about 20km. I expect this to take about 4 hours. I would love it if you would like to motivate me to achieve this goal in the form of a donation. At the same time, you support the research into cardiomyopathy via Hartedroom.

Further information

We try to limit the cost of the event as much as possible but to keep it affordable for the students we use 25% of the donations up to a maximum of 450 euros per participant to make the trip possible. This is also a direct incentive for all of us to raise a lot of money for Hartedroom. All participants have created their own GoFundMe page but use the same school account number.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me personally at 0638035049 You can also always contact André Chaigneau, co-rector education at Laar & Berg and co-initiator and participant in the project. He can be reached by phone number: 0355395422

You can also always come by at Langsakker 4 in Laren.

Many thanks in advance
