Harte and Sole: 20 Miles for Carol
Join Us in Making a Difference
On the 22nd Of August 2024 we lost our much loved Wife, Mother & Nanny to gallbladder cancer, She fought so hard and was so brave. We want to turn our grief into something positive to help others and so we decided to do a walk for charity.
I’m raising money in aid of Pilgrims Hospices in East Kent, and every donation will make a real impact. This cause is incredibly close to my heart, and I’d like to thank you in advance for your support and generosity.
About Pilgrims Hospices in East Kent:
Pilgrims is the largest hospice charity in east Kent, dedicated to helping people with incurable illnesses live well in every moment. Their compassionate care extends to both patients and their families, offering vital support when it’s needed most.
My dad, Dave Harte, who is 77 and I have set ourselves a meaningful challenge. While a 10-mile walk felt achievable, we’ve decided to push ourselves and tackle 20 miles instead. On 10th May 2025, which would have been my mum Carol Harte’s birthday, we will walk 20 miles in her memory to raise funds for this incredible charity.
My Son George,9, will be walking the last 5 miles with us.
Although my mum didn’t spend time in the hospice, Pilgrims provided exceptional care for her at home. They supported her with comfort and dignity, ensuring her medication and needs were managed thoughtfully. This walk is our way of giving back to a charity that does so much for others during difficult times.
Every step we take will be in memory of Carol and in support of Pilgrims Hospices’ vital work. Please join us in making a difference by donating or sharing our story. Together, we can honour my mum and help other families receive the same outstanding care.
