It is with great sadness that I have acknowledge the loss of our wonderful father, and Debbie's amazing husband Nicholas Hart.
Nick & his girls
From the moment Nick came into our lives, it felt like he was always a part of the family.
Nick was our mom's rock. She was beginning to feel that she was just not meant for love. Then Nick came into her life and showed her what true love is. Even when she was afraid and thought things were too good to be true. He would hold her and just love her more. Though they were only married a short time. They had already started making their big plans and dreams together a reality.
They bought a sailboat and lived and sailed together. Both lovers of the sea.
They had just bought some land in Northern California and were just starting to move up to their new home, where they would spend the evenings cuddling in front of the fire and drinking wine together, while reflecting on the perfect life they had just recently built together.

True Love
This loss was so sudden and is just devastating for Debbie, Nick’s two amazing daughters Nicole and Rochelle, As well as for myself, brother Steven and sister Siri, and countless other family & friends. I can never thank Nick enough for what he has brought to our family. The loss is tremendous but we will do our best to carry on with those plans and honor what Nick wanted for us all.
On Saturday July 14th Nick was boating with his long time friend. They had a great weekend planned in Catalina Island. The two friends were having such a great time together sailing. Rough seas came in and Nick fell overboard, while recovering a Kayak. His friend reached for him but the sea was too rough and he couldn’t get to him. We are just thankful he was doing what he loved, while with a great friend.
Nick was an amazing man: kind yet strong, with a gentle spirit and not a harmful bone in his body…A quiet strength that does not need to be boastful. The kind of man that we see so little of today. My brother is very sensitive to people’s energy and has said he has never seen so much kindness in another man’s eyes. There was just an energy about him and people who knew Nick for even a brief time, loved him. That along with his mischievous fun side, are just a few of the long list of reasons he leaves behind so many great friends. All of our lives were and will continue to be the greater for having the privilege of knowing him.

I setup this fund to help provide some assistance to my mom and family during this difficult time. It’s hard enough wake up and to put one foot in front of the other, without having to worry about mounting expenses. I want to help take as much off of her plate as possible. Any donations, positive thoughts and prayers are appreciated more than we can possibly express.
Family Fun
Thanks so much to all who have already reached out to share your well wishes.
Much love,
