Harsh Pande Medical Emergency Fundraiser
Donation protected
Harsh Pande's Support Group would like to convey gratitude to all his well-wishers who have supported him in his medical recovery journey.
The current medical and financial condition is less sustainable for his continued recovery in the US.
As a result, the family has reached a conclusion that the next phase of recovery should take place in the midst of his immediate family in India.
We are now shifting our focus to make arrangement for Harsh's air transportation from Texas to New Delhi, India.
The cost for commercial air ambulance is approx $50K.
Hence, we are increasing our goal by this amount to a new target of $150K. This is to accommodate air transportation in addition to the out-of-pocket medical expenses within US.

Hi, My name is Rajeev Pant and I am creating this fundraiser for my cousin Harsh Pande. This is an extension of a prior GoFundMe (https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-rohit-khannas-funeral) which is now dedicated only to Harsh Pande, victim to a road accident on November 1st. 2021, where he suffered severe brain damage. We have made this page due to Harsh’s condition being more critical requiring additional financial help.
His insurance has stopped covering his medical expenses since late June. The cost for his current living situation at the Skilled Nursing Facility demands approx. $7000 per month for the nursing facility, $9000 per month for the rehabilitation therapy and $6000 per month for his medications; overall amounts to ~$22,000 per month for him to get basic medical care.
Here are the updates till now. Harsh was brought to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Plano from the accident site on November 1st, 2021. His lungs were punctured due to which the surgeon had to insert tubes to drain the fluids out of the lungs. He was placed on the ventilator to help him breathe. Multiple CT scans were done which showed bleeding in the brain due to Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI), which is a type of traumatic brain injury (TBI) that results from a severe blunt damage to the brain. There are currently 2 stents placed in his heart. He was on and off the ventilator to monitor breathing mechanisms. Due to punctured lungs, there was mucus development in his lungs which caused the doctors to clean out his lung often. He was under observation in the ICU at the Hospital for over 3 weeks. Subsequently, he was moved to Select Specialty Hospital, a long-term acute care (LTAC) facility in Carrollton in late Nov. With Harsh being off the ventilator later, he had a tracheostomy collar which was hooked with oxygen to help him breathe. Harsh was kept on and still remains on a feeding tube to sustain his muscle mass. He had started having some movements on the right side of his body, such as opening the right eye and tracking movements, moving his right-hand fingers, and opening and closing his mouth as if swallowing. Some more brain scans were done which showed swelling in the front part of the brain. After 4 weeks of being at LTAC, just before Christmas, Harsh was moved to San Remo, a Skilled Nursing/Rehab Facility in Richardson, TX. While he is showing good improvement in movement of his right arm, hand, fingers, wrist and foot; he has still not shown real progress on the left side of his body.
Harsh, now needs the care, more than ever, as all his friends and family have stood by his side and are still fighting for him to come out of this unfortunate situation. His survival depends on a skilled caring facility and in order to enable him to remain in one, he is in desperate need of financial support. He has a long road ahead of him as the doctors have mentioned it might take up to 2 years to get even a possible state of normalcy back. We humbly request anyone reading this to show that humanity is above all and donate whatever they can in order to help us support our friend.
Thank You for your kind support.
