Harry’s Leg Surgery

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Sherina. I have a 2 and a half year old Great Pyrenees/Border Collie puppy named Harry. A couple of months ago I was giving Harry a bath. When he was done, he jumped out of the tub and was not able to use his left hind leg at all. I was really worried and initially thought he might’ve broken a bone in his leg because of how limp it was. After a bit of rubbing his leg, luckily Harry was able to walk on it. A few days later he was limping on three legs again so my boyfriend went to rub it and felt something pop. We were worried it was a bone or something like that so we scheduled an appointment for him to see a vet.

After a couple visits to the vet they were able to confirm that he has a “Luxating Patella” which is basically a condition where his kneecap rolls out of the socket. In Harry’s case it’s not severe (yet) because we can easily manipulate the knee back into place but over time it can become more severe and cause worse issues down the line, especially with his size. We want Harry to live a happy, healthy and full life so we would feel horrible if this turned into something we could’ve avoided by getting him surgery.

The surgery is going to cost us about $6,000 + follow up appointment costs. As some of you may know : at the vet, they usually ask you to pay at the time of treatment. This was a very unexpected and sudden injury so we are not financially prepared to do that at all. We’re hoping to raise as much as we can to help with the costs. If you can spare anything at all, even if it’s just a share, we would appreciate it so much! Thank you for taking the time to read this and have a wonderful day!
