Hi, I'm Natalie and I’m starting this GoFundMe for my friend Harry in his time of need. He is normally self-reliant, but his friends and I have stressed that he simply cannot make it through the next 6 weeks without some financial aid.

I'm reaching out for support during his gender-reassignment top surgery. Harry lived for 41 years with the depression that comes with gender dysphoria. This surgery will allow him to feel and be seen as his true self.

He is a single parent, and has no other family in Canada. His child is the most important person in his life and they will not be able to get through the next 6 weeks without some help. I will be his caregiver day and night as long as he needs me, and I will help with everything that I can.

Why I need your help

The cost of the surgery is only partially covered. Harry has paid $5,800 for contouring, but he won’t have any money left over. There is an additional $500 in expenses to cover; including medication (antibiotics, pain management, etc.), and other medical materials.

Income will be a bigger problem. Harry will initially need 3 weeks away from work to recover. The first two weeks will use all of his paid vacation for 2025. His job doesn’t have paid sick days, so the third week will be without income. The surgeon has advised him to return to work on the fourth and fifth week for only half days doing light duties before resuming his normal job.

Without any help, he will not be able to cover his rent and bills for next month.

The procedure involves removing excess fat and skin, and repositioning the nipples to create a natural-looking flat chest. FTM top surgery may help relieve gender dysphoria and prevent complications related to chest binding.

Contouring includes the removal of excess skin, removal of the inframammary fold, and reduction and repositioning or removal of the nipple-areolar complex.
