hello, my name is Harry Walker.
In 2013, the day my Pap passed away, something in my life changed forever.
My Pap wasn’t just my grandfather — he was my best friend. He was a musician, always playing, always trying to teach me. He’d sit me down at the piano and patiently show me chords, melodies, rhythms… and like most kids, I’d listen for about thirty seconds before getting bored and wandering off. Looking back now, I wish I’d stayed sat there a little longer.
That same day, I remember seeing Florida Georgia Line on the television for the first time. I can’t explain it properly, but their music just hit me differently. From that moment on, country music became my escape. It got me through the hardest moments of my life, and it still soundtracks the best ones too.
I’ve always wanted to sing. Even as a little kid, it was there — but confidence wasn’t. For years I kept it to myself, convincing myself it was something other people were brave enough to do, not me.
That all changed at the start of 2025, when my brother George and my girlfriend Gabriella booked me recording studio sessions. There was no backing out — I had to step up. I forced myself to do it… and once I did, I never looked back.
Since then, I’ve been performing live, releasing my own music, and finally sharing something that’s lived inside me my whole life.
There’s another part of my story I want to be honest about.
In 2022, I was at my lowest. I was severely overweight, diagnosed as diabetic, and told that if I carried on the way I was going, I could have a heart attack within a month. That night, I genuinely didn’t want to carry on anymore. I felt completely lost.
But carrying on turned out to be the best decision I ever made.
I changed my life. I lost the weight. I fought back. And music — especially country music — played a huge part in giving me something to hold onto when everything else felt like it was falling apart.
Now, I’ve been given an opportunity I never imagined possible: the chance to travel to Nashville and record my songs with Tommy Harden — a producer who has worked with some of the biggest names in country music.
Every penny raised through this GoFundMe will go directly into the music: recording, production, and giving these songs the chance to reach people the way country music once reached me. I’m working as hard as I can and saving everything I can myself, and I will fund my own travel to Nashville — this support is purely for the music.
This isn’t just about recording songs. It’s about honouring where I came from, who I’ve lost, how far I’ve come, and proving to myself that the kid who didn’t have the patience to sit at the piano finally found his way back to the music.
If you choose to support this journey, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You’re not just backing a project — you’re backing a story that means everything to me.
