On the 5th-6th of April 2025, myself and Harry will be taking on an ultra marathon - 97km around the Isle of Arran, Scotland to raise money for the incredible team at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) who are caring for my cousin, Jasmine and Max’s, little boy, Bailey, who has recently been diagnosed with Phenylketonuria (PKU).
PKU is a rare genetic disorder that prevents the body from breaking down protein properly, meaning that even everyday foods can be dangerous. Without careful dietary management and specialist treatment, PKU can lead to serious health complications, including brain damage. The dedicated team at GOSH has been life-changing for Bailey and my family, providing expert care, support, and vital treatment.
We wanted to do something challenging (& crazy!) to show our gratitude and support, so we’ve committed to running 97km over two days, pushing ourselves to the limit in honour of the strength and resilience shown by Bailey and so many other children at GOSH.
Every penny we raise will go to the department at Great Ormond Street that is treating Bailey, helping them continue their incredible work for children with PKU and other metabolic conditions.
These funds will support:
- Specialist medical care and treatment for children with PKU.
- Ground-breaking research into better treatments and management of metabolic disorders.
- Essential resources to improve the experience of young patients and their families.
We’ll be giving it everything we’ve got in this ultra marathon, knowing that every step we take is helping to support the amazing team at GOSH.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and support!
