Hi my Name is Virginia Roberts (Verdict). On October 5th my father had a bilateral lung transplant at Methodist Hospital in Houston Texas. After initially doing amazingly well, he has developed an infection that will keep him in the ICU for an unknown period of time…but he is the little engineer that could.

My family is currently setting up a second residence in Houston so that his support team can be close to him and the hospital. He will also have to be close to the Hospital for up to a year after he is released during his critical recovery period This is an expense that runs conservatively 5000 dollars a month. My mother, Deborah Roberts; his sister, Elizabeth Havel along with her husband Dennis and I have been in or close to the hospital for the entire journey.

Donations will go directly to Debbie to be allocated wherever they are most needed at the time.. For those of you who know my dad, you know that his is strong and stubborn and can fight this infection and be around to thank you personally on the other side of this. Fortunately he continued to take care of his mental and physical health to the best of his ability prior to the surgery, which gives him a fighting chance.
