In loving memory of Harry Richardson

Hi, my name is Jess and I am Harry’s youngest daughter. Unfortunately I received a call on Monday 23rd June 2025 telling me that my dad had passed away in his sleep in Bridlington. This was very unexpected and as you can imagine, extremely heartbreaking. Never in my life did I think I would have to make one of these so soon so here goes:

I found out that Harry passed away from a heart attack due to having Myocardial Ischemia which is one of the most common causes in death of women and men. It is also extremely hard to diagnose because most of the time it is asymptomatic. What this means is fatty deposits had built up and attached to his artery walls causing them to harden and narrow which in turn stops normal blow flow to the heart which basically means the heart was starved of the oxygen it needed to keep going. There was also other conditions to go along side of this.

He had multiple friends in all different areas of the country, his favourite places being Blackpool and Bridlington and has a lot of family in Wakefield and surrounding areas. He has 2 daughters, myself and my sister Gema. In the last few years he became a grandad and was also known to many as “Uncle Harry” or in a less polite way “Uncle n*****d”. He really was the light in a lot of people’s lives. He loved a pint of Guinness or maybe 10 and always had a smile on his face.

With our current situations as a family we are struggling to get the cost together for his service so I am now aiming to raise funds to go towards his funeral and to get him back home to us.

Anything is greatly appreciated no matter the amount and for those that can’t, if you could share this so it can reach others who may know him that would mean a great deal to us all.

I don’t have a funeral date yet but I imagine it will be within the next couple of weeks so I will keep everyone updated where I can.
