Help Harry After Mobile Home Explosion

Who We Are and Why We're Raising Funds
We are friends, neighbors, and community members rallying around Harry, a beloved handyman and pillar of his Boulder community. On May 26, 2025, Harry's life changed in an instant when a gas leak caused his mobile home to explode. Miraculously, Harry survived unharmed—he was at the far end of his trailer when the explosion destroyed his kitchen and living room. However, the damage is total and irreparable, leaving Harry suddenly homeless after 30 years in his community.
We're raising funds to help Harry purchase a replacement mobile home so he can rebuild his life and continue being the generous, caring person who has touched so many of our lives.
Harry's Story: A Life of Service and Generosity
Harry isn't just any handyman—he's the kind of person every community treasures. For decades, he has put others' needs before his own, working odd hours and seeking the best deals on materials rather than passing costs along to struggling homeowners. Whether fixing a leaky roof, repairing a broken toilet, or installing a new kitchen counter, Harry approaches every job with integrity and genuine care for his neighbors.
His expertise extends far beyond typical home repairs. Harry has worked in some of the world's most challenging environments, including Antarctica research stations and the Palmyra Islands, where he supported scientific research as both a repairman and construction worker. These experiences shaped him into someone who can solve problems under any conditions.
But perhaps most importantly, Harry has dedicated his personal life to helping others recover from alcohol and drug addiction. He approaches this work with the humility that comes from understanding we are all instruments of something greater than ourselves. Through his quiet, steady presence, Harry has positively impacted countless lives over the years, never seeking recognition or reward.
Why Harry Needs Our Help
Harry has been an integral part of the San Souci mobile home park for approximately 30 years. Since 2022, this unique community has operated as a cooperative, and Harry's lot sits kitty-corner to his sister's home—making it the perfect place for him to continue his life and work. Unfortunately, like many who spend their lives serving others, Harry has no home insurance and lacks sufficient savings to purchase another mobile home on his own.
The 60-year-old trailer that was destroyed wasn't just Harry's home—it was his workshop, his sanctuary, and the base from which he served our community. Now, at a time when he should be focused on healing from this trauma, Harry faces the overwhelming challenge of starting over from nothing.
A Call for Support
Harry has given generously to many over the years—now is our opportunity to support him in his time of need. Every dollar donated will go directly toward purchasing a replacement mobile home, allowing Harry to return to his community, his sister, and his life of service. Let's help him rebuild his treasured way of life.
