Harrison's Toy Box

Donation protected
Harrison Shauger had the gift of being able to put a smile on anyone’s face. He was born with a rare combination of four congenital heart defects, otherwise known as Tetralogy of Fallot, and severe pulmonary stenosis. He conquered three open-heart surgeries and twelve cardiac catheterizations in his short life. Unfortunately, he passed away after a routine appendectomy in 2013. Whenever Harrison attended his appointments at the Hackensack Pediatric Center for Heart Disease, he would receive a toy, giving him something to look forward to after his checkup. Remembering how much it helped him shortly after his passing, we wanted to allow the other patients to experience this same feeling of joy. This was when we decided to create Harrison’s Toy Box, the annual toy drive in memory of Harrison. We will be collecting unused toys (ages newborn to teen & no stuffed animals, please !) every year through June and July for the Pediatric Center for Heart Disease in Hackensack, NJ. Any donations can be dropped off at one of our drop-off locations. After many requests for a way to donate online, we decided to create a GoFundMe for monetary donations that will be used at the end of the drive to purchase more toys. Donations of any size are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your help; we are so excited to see what 2024 brings! :)
