Harrisons Dollars for Dogs

A few years ago, Harrison was in our office waiting for us to finnish our work day and there was an older woman there with her very sick cat.  He sat and listened to her call friends and family to help her raise money to treat her cat.  Doc and I had NO idea this was all going on.  After 30 min of trying it was her turn to go into a room with her cat.  With little money and few options she decided to euthanize her cat.  She did not want her best friend to suffer any more.  She made that decision because she did not have the funds and was too proud to ask doc for help.  When she left sobbing with her cat wrapped in a blanket Harrison decided he needed to do something to help people like her.  He was 10 at the time.  He was quiet on the way home and later that night he told me this story.  He was so sad.  He asked if we could start a program to help people like this woman help her pet.  Doc and I are not fans of fundraising and really kind of put him off for a while.  He began designing t shirts on his computer, researching fundraising ideas.  He spent countless hours thinking of ways to make money to help.  After a few months and his crazy persistence we decided to let him do a small fundraiser.  He has raised 11,000. and helped countless owners in emergency situations pay for life saving vet care.  He decides along with doc which families get the help.  he fundraises.  Its all him.  Hes 13 now and still going strong.  We have had so many requests for help the last few days and funds are low so were doing a go fund me to raise some money.  surgeries are not cheap.  Doc discounts his part but meds, anesthesia, staff time, its all very costly even at our low cost clinic.  We fully fund our rescue so we just cant fund this as well.  No donation is too small and we will share pictures and stories on our Rescue Facebook page as we get donations and help the humans help their pets.  Again, these funds go to emergency situations only.  Surgeries and vet care where the pets life depends on it.  Thank you so much in advance for the generosity.  LOVE is the answer.  ~ Mandy (Proud mom of our Dollars For Dogs boy)
