Meet Me in St. Louis!

Donation protected
My name is Harrison Stringer. I'm a junior at Amarillo High School and an avid member of the theatre community here in Amarillo, having performed in numerous productions at Amarillo Little Theatre's Mainstage and Academy and through the Amarillo Opera, including the Summer Youth Musical. You may have seen me as Lord Farquaad in Shrek the Musical or Evan Goldman in 13, the Tin Man in Wizard of Oz or, most recently, Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and George Banks in Mary Poppins. The Arts Community has taught me so much about myself as a performer and a person. I am so thankful for the opportunities this great city offers our youth and adults that share my passion for theatre.

At the end of 2015, I applied for a Musical Theatre Summer Intensive hosted by The Muny in St. Louis, Missouri and Webster University. This program only accepts 12 Juniors or Seniors from across the nation. Early last month, I found out that I am one of the 12 to be accepted and I couldn't be more excited. This amazing experience would give me the opportunity to attend master classes with trained professionals from across the country, including working actors in Movies, Theatre, and Television. In addition to these workshops and classes, I will have the absolute honor of performing in The Muny's Equity Production of Mamma Mia before 10,000 people a night. We will be doing 8 performances! Performing in this show would open numerous opportunities for me. Not only will I be performing alongside proffesional actors, but also the training, networking, and experiences I will receive within those 3 weeks will surely be immeasurable.

That being said, the total cost of the program is $5,600 and it must be paid by Friday, March 25th. I am reaching out to the Arts Community in hopes that you will understand the opportunities that await me, and I would appreciate any support, be it monetarily or emotionally. These 3 weeks will be filled with experiences I can only dream of, and will help me attain my goal of pursuing musical theatre professionally. I am thankful for the thriving Arts Community here in Amarillo, and I hope to further the amazing training I have already received in my years here. An opportunity like this only comes around once in a lifetime.

Thank you,
