Hello!

My name is JJ Willis and I am the Writer and Director of "Harrison Prime," a new indie drama entering production this fall.

This is the most honest and personal script I've written since my 2022 short film debut, "Textbook," a coming-of-age drama about feeling lost and alone during a frightening new phase of life. It should come as no surprise that "Harrison Prime" carries some similar themes. This time around, I hope to tackle the feeling of uncertainty during times of transition, and the ways in which many of us struggle to find our footing in a world that suddenly demands more of us than ever before.

Your 20s are often referred to as "the prime of your life," but in today's social, political, and economic climate, more and more young people are struggling to feel positive about where they stand. Devoting energy to finding work, paying the bills, maintaining relationships, staying healthy, following your dream, caring about the world, and all manner of other obligations can be very draining, and doesn't leave much time or energy leftover for "finding yourself." Sometimes, it's enough to make any one person feel like they can't handle it all.

"Harrison Prime" tells the story of a twenty-something taking a unique approach to this very problem, and the chaos, comedy, and heartbreak that ensues along the way.

Projects as large as these take a lot of money to produce. Funds need to be allocated for props and set design, hair and makeup products, costumes, gear rentals, and all sorts of other costs that will undoubtedly pop up, seemingly out of nowhere. Since our crew will mostly be made up of college students and post-grads who are volunteering their time and talent, we also want to create a comfortable and enjoyable working environment, which means securing enough funds to provide craft services for cast and crew.

We would like to raise $2,500 by November 1st. Production will begin on November 15th.

Thank you so much for taking the time, and for your continued support of young artists telling new stories. We couldn't do it without you.

Onwards and upwards.
