Hello, my name is Cherié and I am the auntie of Harrison Blanchflower who is 3 years old.

On Tuesday 5th March 2024, our world stopped as Harrison went into Cardiac Arrest.

Harrison had been unwell with slapped cheek the week before but was recovering - so we thought. The day he collapsed started as any other day did, he had been at Nursery all day and arrived back home at 3:30pm with his Mum, Alexandra, older brother, George, and his little sister, Allana. As they arrived home and stepped foot in the door, within minutes the arrest happened. Alex noticed Harrison had stopped breathing and immediately delivered CPR whilst on the phone to the emergency services. Harrison was rushed initially to the Luton and Dunstable hospital, then later that night was transported to The Royal Brompton Hospital in Chelsea, London.

Today marks 3 weeks since our boy collapsed, and he has not been awake since.
Harrison is still currently in hospital and has been under sedation the whole time. Throughout his time in hospital, we have discovered his heart stopped due to the infection attacking his heart muscles. Harrison has undergone procedures to help his heart and the blood flow as well as being on ECMO support. He is currently fighting pneumonia as his lungs have collapsed. We have been told that if his heart does not improve he will need a heart transplant. Every second of each day is touch and go, and the things our poor baby has had to go through, at 3 years old, is unimaginable.

Harrisons parents, Alexandra and Kyle, have been by his bedside in the PICU everyday and are currently staying in accommodation provided by the hospital. As you can imagine, this is now having a financial impact on the family, as well as a mental one. We have been told that Harrison will not be leaving the hospital any time soon.

As a family, we have come to the decision to ask for help to support my sister and her family at this extremely difficult time. We know of all the love and support for Alex, Kyle and their 3 children, and I know how grateful they are to everyone wishing them well and supporting anyway that they can, but they now need financial help so they can continue to be by Harrison’s side whilst he fights for his life.

If you could donate, not matter how big or small, or even share so this reaches as many people as possible, we would be eternally grateful.
Any funds left over will be donated to The Royal Brompton Hospital, who continue to provide Harrison, Alex and Kyle the best care.

Thank you for taking the time to read Harrison’s story
