Harriet’s Volunteering in Borneo
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Harriet and I am going to be undertaking a physical challenge; walking 16 miles along the most strenuous stretch of the Jurassic Coast. The route from West Bexington to Lyme Regis involves a 3000 ft accent, including climbing Golden Cap, the highest point on the south coast. I’m undertaking this challenge as part of my fundraising for a volunteering trip in Borneo. When I am in Borneo I will be making a difference to the communities there by working on local construction projects, to improve facilities for the rapidly growing population of Bongkud. Projects will include constructing a youth centre, improving the drainage system to ensure cleaner and healthier living and establishing a community farming programme to improve food security and encourage self-sufficiency within the village, without needing to transport supplies from larger towns. I will also be supporting habitat conservation for wildlife under threat in Borneo, such as, orangutans, elephants and proboscis monkeys.
I would be extremely grateful for any support you can give me to fundraise for this good cause, all money fundraised will be used to make this happen.
This trip will test me in many ways, and it’s going to be an incredible adventure. I would really appreciate any support you can give me to succeed.
