Hi we are doing this fundraiser to help raise funds for Harriet and her family to help take some of the financial pressure off them.
Harriet and her family will need to relocate to London for a minimum of 6 weeks, hopefully mid-November, while Harriet receives treatment. Bringing significant extra costs for travel, food, accommodation and everyday living from home.

Harriet's journey

In November 2023, at just turned 4 years old, Harriet and her family lives changed forever.

What started as a diagnosis of a brain tumour turned into nearly 3 years of hospitals, chemotherapy, operations, infusions, fear, uncertainty and more heartbreak than any family should ever have to face. Harriet has had around 150 doses of chemotherapy, multiple operations and countless hospital stays. She has fought through things that no child should ever have to experience.

The tumour is on her brainstem and it has taken so much from her. Harriet has lost the hearing in one ear, has partial sight loss, struggles to walk and now uses a wheelchair. She has difficulties with her breathing and swallowing. As a family they have genuinely not known what the next day would bring.

And yet, somehow, Harriet is still Harriet ❤️❤️

She is funny. and sassy. She makes people laugh. She has a personality bigger than the room and a strength that amazes everyone who knows her. But behind that smile is a little girl who has missed out on so much.

She has missed school days out, holidays, playing with friends, family days, birthdays and so many of the simple things that should make up a childhood. Things that other children don't have to think about have become things Harriet has had to miss.

And it has not just affected Harriet. Harriet's siblings have also had to grow up around hospitals, appointments and uncertainty. They have had to watch their sister go through chemotherapy, operations and illness. They have had to understand at such a young age that sometimes plans have to change and days out can't happen and family life has to stop because of Harriet's needs. They have had to have days, even weeks where they have not had both their mum and dad with them as Harriet has been in hospital poorly.

They have had to miss out on parts of childhood and family life because cancer doesn't just affect the person who has it - it affects the whole family. ❤️❤️

Now the family have reached another incredibly difficult point in Harriet's journey. She has had all the chemotherapy that can be offered to her, and despite everything she has been through, her tumour has grown. There aren't endless options left.
Harriet has now been accepted by UCLH in London for proton radiotherapy. after everything Harriet and her family have gone through, this is now her best chance.

And it means that Harriet and her entire family need to relocate to London for at least 6 weeks.

This means 6 weeks away from home. Six weeks of treatment. Six weeks of trying to keep their family together while Harriet fights the biggest fight of her life.

It means they are away from family and friends, school and everything familiar. It could mean they are away for special birthdays and Christmas. Financially this is not something any family can do on their own.

This is why we as friends of the family are organising a fundraiser and this page to help them.

Every penny raised will help them with the cost of being in London - accommodation, travel, food and keeping the family together while Harriet receives the treatment she desperately needs.

Unfortunately we cannot give Harriet back the childhood that cancer has taken from her. But we can give her every possible chance at a future. After, nearly 3 years of fighting, we are not ready to give up, Harriet isn't finished fighting. And neither are we.

So please donate or share this page to let others know Harriet's journey. And help her and family.

We will forever stand by Harriet and her family.
