My name is Suky and I am raising this money for my 44 year old sister Harpinder. Harpinder is a single mother of two children who hasn't been dealt the best cards in life. Married for over 20 years, in a turbulent marriage, before finally building the courage to break free with her children 4 years ago and leaving with nothing to her name. She worked hard and managed to get back on her feet and thrived in her job for the NHS.
Finally divorced and ready to restart her life, she was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2024. She handled it with the grit, determination and positivity that she had become known and loved for. She went forward in Feb 2025 to remove the brain tumour, however sadly there were complications post surgery which led to her brain swelling. She spent 10 weeks in critical care, fully dependent on life support, while our family prayed for her survival.
Against all odds, Pinder began to show signs of life—tiny eye movements, small breaths, and eventually the ability to communicate. Doctors later confirmed she had suffered a major stroke, leaving her unable to move, and for months it was unclear whether she would make any progress from her locked-in state.
As a mother, Pinder draws her greatest strength and motivation from her children. She has fought through every challenge—relearning how to breathe, move, and communicate. Through intensive rehabilitation, she has made remarkable progress, consistently astonishing her therapists and demonstrating extraordinary resilience.
Despite these achievements, Pinder remains fully dependent on others for daily activities such as eating, personal care, and repositioning, and she continues to require occupational therapy. She currently uses a wheelchair but holds a determined hope of walking again, making ongoing physiotherapy essential to her recovery. While she is able to eat and speak, she still needs speech therapy to further develop and strengthen her communication skills and therapy for swallowing to develop her ability to eat more variety of food.
But her journey is far from over. After a period of intensive therapy, funding will be reduced, and without the continued amount of expert rehabilitation, her progress risks stalling.
We are raising funds to ensure Pinder can continue the therapy she desperately needs—to rebuild her independence, be present for her children, and reclaim her life.
Your support will give Pinder the chance she deserves. Every donation
brings her closer to recovery and being the mother her children needs.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Every share and donation, no matter how small, is hugely appreciated.
